Bulletin, Record, Progressive, Reporter Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 1"1B The Plumas-Eureka State Park Association thanks the group of volunteers who "braved the harsh reality of winter at Plumas-Eureka State Park" on Jan. 2 to assist the winter docents get organized before the next snow, The association has acquired another snowmobile to replace "Ole Smokey": a "very nice used machine with low hours in great shape." The group thanks volunteer Ken McMaster, who trekked a day to procure the machine and bring it home. The association has also purchased a rolling groomer to pull behind the newest snow machine and improve the cross-country experience on the trails in the state park. On Jan. 2, volunteers unpacked the roller, organized the trailer and snowmobiles, moved picnic tables, installed the winter rules sign at the Jamison Trail and met the park's new ranger, Tim Quandt. The group thanks John and Marian Sciborski, Ken McMaster, Janet Baldridge and maintenance's Mike McBride for leading the labor force to a productive day. The association has six events scheduled Feb. 14- 16 and needs volunteers to staff these first fundraisers of the year. Those interested in getting involved may call Tim Hardie at 836.i995.
