Photo by Shannon Morrow ENDEAVOR HOMES 1-800-482-8453 Trojans register win in Esparto Shannon Morrow Sports Editor sports@plumasnews.com The Quincy High School boys' basketball eam earned its first official will of the season last Friday night, when the Trojans went on the road to defeat Esparto 63- 23. Quincy outscored Esparto 24-6 in the first quarter, when senior co-captain Matt Rouse drained three 3-point- ers and three 2-pointers. Rouse finished the night with 24 points. The Trojans limited Espar- to's offense to two points in the second quarter, while adding seven points of their own. Quincy's second-string played much of the period. With it's starters back in to begin the second half, Quincy outplayed Esparto 17-6 through the third quar- ter. Quincy's reserve players were back in by the fourth quarter, which went to a running clock for the final few minutes. Cody Cline totaled 12 points and 13 rebounds. Ke- shawn Johnson contributed 11 points and seven re- bounds. Justin Mortiz and Keefer Hokanson claimed seven rebounds each. Cline collected three blochs, while Andrew Mur- phy, Johnson and Hokanson delivered four assists apiece. Rouse captured five steals and Mortiz grabbed four.
