Earlier that week, Jan. 8, the Eagles traveled to College of the Redwoods to start their conference play. FRC lost 76-73. The win and loss brought FRC's overall record to 4-12, with an even 1-1 conference record. The Eagles got offto a sluggish start against Shasta. In the first couple minutes of play, Shasta scored eight points before FRC had a chance to retaliate. Shasta kept going and got its lead up to 13-1. The Eagles stepped up their game and started putting some points on the board to tie it up 17-17. The Eagles took the lead at 22-21, and kept going to lead 37-30 at the half. The second half mainly' consisted of maintaining that lead and staying ahead. FRC's game against College of the Redwoods was evenly matched the whole game. The two teams swapped leading and playing catch-up. At the half College of the Redwoods was up 36-34. The Eagles shot more, but the Corsairs were more accurate that night. One of Feather River's reserves, Cedric Christian, was the team's top scorer. Christian made 14 points for the Eagles. Contributions came from across the roster. Maurice Johnson and Zack Johnson both scored 12 points. Two more players got to the double digits as well: Reuben Nwondo scored 11 points and DeCari Lide scored 10. Feather River College's Cedrick Christian is pushed out by momentum after slamming the ball Jan. 11 during the Eagles' game against Shasta College. The Eagles, behind at the beginning, came back to win the game 84-75. Photo by James Wilson DRIVE ::i :! ii 2.99% APR FOR 72 MOS., OAC.
