4A Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 Feather River Bulletin CLOSURE, from page 1A closure. Hall worked with'Social Services Director Elliott Smart, and a social worker will be assigned to assist the patients and their families. Additionally there is a facility ombudsman whose role it is to advocate for patients' rights. But Hall and others hope that patients won't have to be relocated, that the 57-bed facility can be transferred to another owner, Perhaps Plumas District Hospital. Who owns it now? According to records in the Plumas County Assessor's Office, it is owned by 50 E. Central LLC, c/o the Arba Group. The California Department of Health lists the licensee as CF Quincy LLC. The facility's parent corporation is listed as Cambridge Healthcare. Representatives of Cambridge were in Quincy last Thursday to meet with patients and staff, a day after many had learned of the closure plans. Simpson introduced herself to the trio who were visiting the site and explained the importance of the facility to the area. Though they declined an invitation to talk to this newspaper and local staff has been instructed to refrain from doing so as well, Cambridge supplied a copy of the letter that was -sent to all of the Quincy facility patients. The letter addresses the closure, what happens next and patient rights. (See adjacent letter in its entirety.) Local leaders had a little more notice of the closure than did the patients and staff, but wished they had more. "If we had known three or four months ago ..." Hall said. "If Plumas District Hospital had a heads-up ..." But despite the short notice, the viability of anothe entity taking over the facility is being discussed. Hall's department is funding a feasibility study to see if it's possible for Plumas District Hospital to take over the facility.
