The private school had only five players at the championship, making it the smallest team at the event. Greenville Greenville will play baseball, softball and golf this year. Last year's baseball team reached the top, winning its league and making it to the Division VI championship. The team still has plenty of talent and is in good form to repeat history. The Indians' softball team didn't fare too well last year, not making it to playoffs. This year's team has some new talent and hopes to change things up a bit. The school's softball team matured throughout the year to end its season as a different team. The team boasted a winning 14-9 overall record and went 9-3 in league. The team made it into the playoffs, but was ousted in the first round. A major struggle Chester will face this year is its lack of experience. Not a single senior is signed up on this year's team, leaving juniors, sophomores and freshmen. This year will undoubtedly be a big growing year for the Lady Volcanoes. Portola Things can go either way for the Tigers this season. Last year, Portola played pretty evenly, ending its season 14-13. This season, though, the Tigers don't have as many seniors on the team. Clayton Sears, Trevor Ohle and Will Marquette will lead the team as the only seniors. The Tigers will need to learn quickly if they want to be able to compete. Portola's softball team is looking to be the toughest team in the Mid-Valley League. The team did rather well last year with a mostly junior team. This year the girls will return with more know-how and the maturity to execute smarter plays. The sch()ol will also have athletes competing in track and golf. CORRECTION.
