14B Wednesday, April 11, 2001 Continued from page 13B yond, Marsha, you have my greatest respect! No matter how much money a school has to offer, a teacher like Marsha Rohy just can't be bought! Kara Ferris Austin, Texas and telling me what to do as tion so that the general plan gized to Mr. Smith, the owner long as I pay the taxes. This is a property rights issue and every property owner has rights, not just a chosen few based on size or where they live. If that was the case the high number of owners that are absent with agriculture acres in Sierra Valley would be highly unrepresented. Again thank you Supervisor Pearson, even though I am not in your district! Thomas A. Dotta Loyalton for Sierra Valley can be com- pleted. These qualities in our supervisors are exactly what peqple want to see in the lead- ers bf,4heir county. The super- visors~ha.ye given us their word and they stood by it. Supervisor Pearson, on the other hand, voted against a large number of his own con- stituents in Sierra Valley, and against upholding the supervi- sors' word, in not allowing the general plan to be completed before certain applications are approved. By voting against the completion of the general plan, and its restrictions that it would create for a developer, he is also wasting the county's money (approx. $15,000 to $18,000, per the Planning De- partment) that it has accrued in developing this General Plan procesS. Residents of Eastern Plumas County could have sworn that Mr. Pearson's campaign was based on "Bringing Respect Back to the County Govern- ment" and "Not Wasting Coun- ty Money." Mr. Pearson publicly apolo- of Diamond S Corporation, during the hearing that he "was sorry buddy, that he couldn't make it work today." Sounds like personal interest. I wonder how many other per- sonal interests Mr. Pearson is involved with? If there's a feeling of need in the public sector for an expan- sion of the supe's agenda and activities, wouldn't it suggest a gaposis in the present format of information? Dave Roberti stat- ed that the letter you showed came from Sacramento from an absent landowner not in your district. He was almost right; we pay taxes and are registered to vote in Sierra County. I can't believe that Dave would feel that because the economic conditions are so bad in Sierra County and I have to make a living, that I do not deserve representation. Sierra County couldn't make a decision and waited for Plumas County. Dave and I sure see things differently. I do not want any group coming on my property The right docision Responsibly conscious resi- dents and agricultural growers in Sierra Valley/Plumas Coun- ty would like to publicly thank Supervisors Clark, Meacher, Dennison and Nelson for standing by their word and bringing respect to the county board by voting 4-1 during the recent hearing April 3.
