The Eagles played two double headers last week ' that determined their champion status. On April 17, Feather River defeated Butte 7-1 and 12-2. Three days later the Eagles traveled to the College of the Siskiyous and won the first game 5-3 and lost the second 3-0. "It wasn't easy. We had to work really hard for this. We had a lot of injuries this season that set us back a bit." Pitcher Michael Bennett sustained injuries to his shoulder that sidelined him for three weeks. Bennett finally returned to the mound to start the Eagles' final game against Siskiyous. Bennet showed off his shoulder's new mobility by striking out three and only allowing four hits. Baumgartner is starting to plan for the playoffs and has high hopes and expectations. "We haven't peaked yet this season," said Baumgartner. "I like our chances going into playoffs. One thing we've done all year is pitch. Any time you get to the playoffs and you can pitch; that means you're still in the ball game. I feel good about that." The Eagles' championship title means they will host the regional playoffs on May 3-4. Seeding takes place April 28, when the Eagles find out who they play first in the playoffs. Feather River will also host the Golden Valley Conference Tournament on April 25.
