Photos by Shannon Morrow Base ruT Quincy track hosts Shannon Morrow Sports Editor sports@plumasnews.com For one time this season, members of the Quincy High School track team ap- preciated not having to travel when the squad host- ed its meet at Feather River College Wednesday, May 2. Quincy won first piace in the varsity boys and JV boys divisions. Josh Hanna won three events, taking first place in the 400-meter run with a time of 51.29 seconds, the 800-meter run with a time of two minutes, 9.1 seconds and the 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:45. Raphael Mielke won the ll0-meter hurdles with a time of 16.03 seconds, and he won the long jump with a distance of 19 feet, two inch- es. Mielke took second in shot put with a distance of 36 feet, five inches. Henry Dillingham won first place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.63 seconds. Dillingham placed second in the ll0-meter hur- dles with a time of 16.92 sec- onds. Ethan Skemp won the high jump event for Quincy with a height of five feet, 10 inches. Skemp placed sec- ond in the 400-meter run with a time of 52.21 seconds. Shawn Hughes earned first place in discus for the Quincy Trojans with a dis- tance of 114 feet, one inch. Mason Kennedy captured second place in the 100-me- ter dash with a time of 11.29 seconds and in the 200-me- ter dash with a time of 23.05 seconds. Manroop Sandhu placed fourth in discus with a dis- tance of 84 feet, three inches. Jarrett Hughes placed sixth bn long jump with a distance of 14 feet, 10 inches. The Quincy varsity boys won first place in both the 4xl00-meter relay and the 4x400-meter relay. Chester&apos;s Cole Connor lunges back toward first'base as the ball comes in.
