As the league schedule nears conclusion, the Quin- cy Trojans have captured the Feather River League championship with a 7-1 record. Chester and Portola likely tied for second place, each with 7-3 records, if Chester defeated Loyalton (0-5) Tuesday, May 11. The re- sults weren't known at press time. After seven scoreless in- nings marked by good de- fense from both teams, the Chester Volcanoes brought in five runs in the eighth frame to win the contest 5-0.
