2A Wednesday, May 20, 2015 Feather River Bulletin Former QCSD director Kraul appointed to the board Longtime employee Harris bids a00ieu James Wilson Staff Writer The Quincy Community Services District Board of Directors appointed former director Kim Kraul to the board at its regular meeting May 14. Kraul replaced long-time QCSD board member Jim Bequette, who served on the board for 28 years. Bequette ended his term on April 9. Kraul will fill the vacancy for the rest,of Bequette's term, through December. To carry on past December, Kraul will have to run for election. Kraul is in no way a new face to the board, having already served as a director for the district for 22 years until she resigned a little over three years ago. Kraul has lived in Quincy for the last 45 years and has been involved in numerous volunteer committees. In addition to the QCSD board, Kraul serves on the Plumas Hospital Foundation and has volunteered at the hospital, the Plumas County Library and the League of Women Voters. Goodbyes The board reluctantly accepted the resignation of Jacqui Harris. Harris has been employed with QCSD as the accounts clerk for the last 10 years. General Manager Larry Sullivan presented Harris with a timepiece in recognition of her hard work over the years. Photo by James Wilson Auto pay Board Secretary Katie Gay presented a letter from a QCSD customer that the district received earlier in May. The customer thanked the district for providing the option to have payments made automatically. Gay said month, that not many QCSD customers know about the option. "We're willing to help people set it up if they have any troubles," she told the board. To enroll in auto pay, customers can go to and click on the "Pay Here" link at the bottom of the home page. v 'here in the Work1? Navy corpsmen Brandon Grant, left, and Vic Torrico send a thank-you for a recent care package they received at Naval Station Rota in Rota, Spain. Grant, the son of Mike and Becky Grant, of Quincy, received the package from his mom. "In all the years he has been in the Navy, if I ask him what he wants me to send him, all he ever asks for is Riley's Jerky," said Becky, who sends Brandon a couple care packages each month.
