Shotgun starts are scheduled for 8:04 a.m. both days. The tournament is a mem- ber-guest format with GM- GA members paired with their guest. Scoring will be better ball on Friday and both balls on Saturday. Each day there will be closest-to-the pin prizes on all four par-three holes. Sat- urday's round will have sig- nificant prizes for an unlim- ited number of holes-in-one on each par three. These prizes include a golf trip to Scotland or $10,000 in cash for a hole-in-one on the 16th hole. This year the tournament also features a Horse Race, to be held after Friday's round. Cash prizes will be given to the winners of each flight and to the overall win- ner. Entry fee include green fees, tee prizes, continental breakfast both days, range balls, prize funds, prize drawings and an awards banquet with a hosted bar. Net proceeds from the tournament benefit Plumas County charities. In the past, approximately $3,000 each year has been donated to those organizations. June 5 The Rotary Club of Chester will hold its 17th an- nual Rotary Golf Tourna- ment Saturday, June 5, at Bailey Creek Golf Course. . Proceeds from the event benefit Rotary's youth schol- arship program, youth lead- ership training and other youth activities. Check in begins at 8 a.m., with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee is $95, which includes golf, cart. range balls, coffee, donuts and a tri-tip lunch. A $10,000 hole-in-one cash prize is sponsored by High Sierra Insurance, and a $500 putting contest is sponsored by US Bank. June 18 The 29th annual Purple Pride Charity Golf Tourna- ment will be Friday, June 18, at Whitehawk Ranch Golf Club. The Purple Pride Boosters support the academic and athletic achievements of Portola High School stu- dents. The tournament will con- sist of 35 four-person teams. The format will be a Texas Scramble. The rules are the same as a basic scramble, with the variation of at least four drives of each member of the team must be used during the course of the round: At least four drives hit by Player A, four by Player B, and so on. Your tax-deductible $145 entry fee (minus $12 non-de- ductible food fee) includes: tee prize, one round of golf with cart, barbecue lunch (tri-tip or chicken sandwich) and awards presentation, great company and lots of fun. Not included in the entry fee: Mulligans, closest-to- the-pin contest and longest- drive contest. The deadline for registra- tion is Tuesday, June 15. Only the first 35 teams will be accepted, so send your entry early. If you must withdraw after regis- tration, let us know by June 15, so we can fill your vacan- cy.
