Bulletin, Record, Progressive, Reporter Wednesday, May 29, 2013 1B 0 ~i /:,~,~i i~ ~{;,iii~ i ~ , ,~:i~ii~i~ Last Thursday's magnitude 5.7 earthquake that was centered near Canyon Dam has caused nearly a million dollars in damage. Most of the damage was to homes in the Lake Almanor area. These photos submitted to Feather Publishing show some of the damage. The largest earthquake to hit the area in nearly 40 years was followed by more than 350 aftershocks, including one Friday morning that measured 4.9. As of Tuesday morning, the Plumas County Office of Emergency Services reported that 40 homes have sustained damage. That number is expected to rise after seasonal home owners return to the area. OES director Jerry Sipe said much of the damage is hard-to-see structural damage. Photos submitted More photos on page 14B 5
