The Trojans finished their season with an overall record of 12-7. had four Vineyard playMs named to "Nevada Lightning," of Reno, an ASA Fastpitch Pacific Coast Region 14 team, took second place in a National Softball Association World Berth Qualifier tourna- ment held May 19-20 in Carson City, which earns them a spot in the NSA World Series. Only the top two teams from quali- fying tournaments earn the privilege of advancing to the series. Playing on this team are local girls Rebecca Rhodes (pitcher, first base) of Portola and Callie Williams (second base, outfield) of Chflcoot. Throughout the six-game tournament, both girls provid- ed solid hitting and fielding. Rhodes batted a .350 with six singles, one double, five SBs, three RBIs, two BBs and one SO. Williams batted a .461 with seven singles, three SBs, two RBIs, one SAC, one BB end one SO. Pitching 2-1/2 es, Rhodes had 14 SOs and three walks. Williams fielded four games with no errors. The NSA West Coast Worhl Series will be held in Modesto July 1522, with teams comi in from 20 states and Canada. In addition to the series, the girls have a full schedule with I0 remaining tournaments.
