Two Feather River players earn All-American honors After another very suc- cessful season, the Feather River College Golden Eagles baseball team received a number of post-season acco- lades, which were recently announced by the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association office. The Golden Eagles placed two players on the Northern California All-American First Team. Freshman short- Stop Justin Bohn and sopho- more second baseman Austin Bali were selected to the All-American Team. Bohn was"selected as the Player of the Year in the Golden Valley Conference after leading the conference in hitting. Bali was selected to the Golden Valley Confer- ence first team as an infield- er. Freshman pitcher Michael Bennett was selected to the All-Northern California team after being selected as the Pitcher of the Year in the Golden Valley Conference. The Golden Eagles also placed seven players on the Golden Valley Conference first team, including the Player of the Year and Pitch- er of the year, as well as one player on the GVC Second Team. Bohn was named the conference&apos;s player of the year for Feather River, and Michael Bennett was named the GVC pitcher of the year. First team all-conference honors went to pitcher Alex Vetter, outfielder Alden Goebel, first baseman Naea Kalehuawehe, utility player Paul Cagle and infielder Austin Bali. Outfielder Brock Asher re- ceived a second team all-con- ference selection. The Golden Eagles fin- ished the 2012 baseball sea- son with the f<urth most wins in the state of Califor- nia and posted an overall record of 32-8.
