Cody Staff Writer mcody@plumasnews.com A contract between the Indian Valley Community Services District and the new interim general manager for the district, Christopher Gallagher, was signed at the district's regular board meeting June 10. Board chairman Matt Cassol said it was necessary to hire an interim manager, who will then hire someone to fill the position more permanently. Gallagher is from the SusanviUe/Eagle Lake area, and is "a really nice guy," said Cassol. "We do have a few other applicants," said director Lee Ann Schramel. "The bottom line is we have a number of options to explore." She said the board is potentially looking for a new employment structure. She said, "If we can all move forward together, then we'll get where we need to go. So as peace, love and tie-dye as that sounds, we're moving forward." The board decided not to form an ad hoc committee to oversee the hiring process. "We all want to be involved in the hiring of the permanent general manager," said Schramel, adding that the board will hold special meetings to discuss each applicant. Preliminary budget review Schramel promised on behalf of the finance committee that a preliminary budget revision would be available to the public this week. A special meeting is scheduled for June 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the Greenville Town Hall. This meeting will address the preliminary budget, amended rate studies and the amount of the proposed rate increase for Indian Valley municipal water users. Rate study The board announced it will have a proposed rate increase prepared 'for public review by the end of July.
