Sue Weber, IVA director, presented awards and scholarships to three students; Teeona Blakely and Jacob Henry were honored on behalf of the Greenville Native American community and Lorena Gorbet, acknowledging them on the next leg of their journey. Cooper Kingdon received several awards highlighting his service to both school and community. Cooper was named Greenville High School athlete of the year, and he received scholarships from Rotary, the Masons, Plumas County Realtors, the Elks and the Indian Valley Chamber of Commerce. John McKinsey, an energy and environmental attorney and instructor at UC Davis School of Law, gave a moving commencement speech in which he offered up key pieces of advice for the future including the importance of living in the now, and for graduates to live their lives as the people they want to be. He spoke to the graduates about relishing the moment and achievements they'd reached thus far, but to use the Quincy's Alyssa Davis reflects Charter School. exhilaration of this moment as momentum toward their next pursuits. Diplomas were presented on stage by Keri Reed, Sue Weber and Taletha Washburn representing the three high school sites: Graduates were welcomed on stage by PCS board president Bill Gimple and then congratulated by high school faculty as they on her six years with Plumas moved back to their seats. Closing comments were made by Sue Weber, who encouraged the graduates to recognize that they have powerful support communities that will always be there for them.
