These engines were used to pump water and to power machines such as cream separators, grinding wheels and washing machines. Fisherman Wayne Cartwright, left, demonstrates his fly-casting technique at the Creekside Festival. A clown, below left, lightens up the third annual Creekside Festival, which sported a variety of crafts, food booths, balloon art, glass making, the duck race and much more. Parks and Recreation general manager Jim Boland, below right, holds the $300 grand-prize-winning duck, #187, sponsored by Bel Inscore. John Seibel won $150 for second place and Jim Hunter picked up $75 for third. Three hundred ducks competed in the race with the winning time being 43 minutes and 20 seconds. Photos by Laura Beaton C.
