Bulletin, Record, Progressive, Reporter Wednesday, June 27, 2012 15B Hannah Allen, 16 Sophomore, Greenville High School Daughter of Tony and Lisa Balbiani "Taylorsville is where I call home. In school my favorite subject is science, and I play sports all year long: volley- ball, basketball and softball. "Outside of school I enjoy riding my horse, hanging out with my friends andbeing outside. "My horse's name is Royal. She's a 27-year-old Arabian mare. She likes to think she's in charge and that she's a princess. "I would be a good rodeo queen because I'm a good role model; I get good grades; I've done countless hours of com- munity service through 4-H; and, I participate in a lot of different activities and groups. "I'm also friendly and out- going, and I like to meet new people. "The benefits of being a member of the Indian Valley Riding and Roping Club are meeting new people, getting to ride your horse with friends, being an active part of the community and having a lot of fun. "I'm excited to have this opportunity." Kelly Hovland, 15 Sophomore, Chester High School Daughter of Randy Hovland "My hometown is Greenville, Calif and I love it here. "My favorite subjects in school are science and math. Some of my favorite things to do are play volleyball, softball and basketball. I also love to go out and race around bar- rels with my horse, Foxy. "Foxy is a quarter horse. She is goofy and loves to go fast. She and I are perfect to- gether- we act so much alike and I am happy that she is my horse. "I think that I would be a good rodeo queen because I have wanted to be one since I was a little girl and have known many rodeo queens such as Jessica Vaughn, and I hope that I will be able to get the chance to be a role model like they all were to me. "Some benefits of being in the Indian Valley Riding and Roping Club are that I get the chance to practme riding in the arena, and there are events like the junior rodeo and Fourth of July Rodeo. The biggest benefit is being able to compete for the 2012 Rodeo Queen. "My father has helped so much with everything this year. I also would like to thank Misty Banchio for all of her help with riding and her vast knowledge, and Martha Vaughn for dealing with me and helping me get where I need to be and everyone else who has helped me during this rodeo queen experience. Also a huge thank you to all my sponsors who will help me get everything I need." Mary Rose "Rosie" Cadenhead, 17 Senior, Greenville High School Daughter of Bronco Cadenhead "My home town is Tay- lorsville. I have grown up in this small town for 10 years and the beauty of the land and people never ceases to amaze me. "I enjoy singing and prac- ticing guitar as well as writ- ing songs for my upcoming album. I also love photogra- phy. ' "My horse's name is Junie. She is a 9-year-old bay quar. ter horse. She's always on the go and she loves to roll and swim in the creek. "Being a part of the Indian Valley Riding and Roping Club is a great experience be- cause everyone is so welcom- ing, and learning is always so fun and easy. Another benefit is that you are working to- gether as a community to provide a fun and safe place for kids and adults alike to do what they enjoy the most. "My aunt, Heather King- don, once said, 'Life is always better on the back of a horse.' Thank you IVRRC for mak- ing that possible for so many. "I'd also like to thank my sponsors, 101 and Gbell FEATHER RIVER PROPERTIES Family Owned and Operated for over 36 years. Serving Indian Valley & Surrounding Communities.
