Bulletin, Record, Progressive, Reporter Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014 15B "This show is a great opportunity for folks to see a very fun and original * band in a quite intimate setting." Show organizers The Scott Pemberton Trio recently performed at the High Sierra Music Festival and Joshua Tree Music Festival. As one of his first forays into playing local clubs, Pemberton will appear at Main Street Sports Bar and Lounge in Quincy on Aug. 22. "This show is a great opportunity for folks to see a very fun and original band in a quite intimate setting," say organizers. The show starts at 9:30 p.m. Pemberton's bio runs as follows: "Bringing fresh music all the way from Portland, Oregon, the charmingly hirsute and terrifically enjoyable Mr. Pemberton delivers dance music of a well-rooted sort, electro- aware but hines-based, full of shreddy delights but also seamlessly propulsive. "In fact, it's hard to figure out where Pemberton and his limber, muscular trio came from. They aren't using anybody else's blueprints but they're sure as shizz building a Capering, high-time stokin' thang together. "Pemberton is a fantastic guitarist whose virtuosity only expands the groove. Come see for yourseff why in the last year this independent artist has been No. I on the pop charts in Portland, No. 4 on the Billboard Tastemaker Charts and has created waves on festival and club stages coast to coast. Scott Pemberton Trio clearly has its own unique sound and never disappoints." Scott Pemberton gets rave reviews for his guitar playing. Catch him on stage at the Main Street Sports Bar and Lounge in Quincy.
