Although numbers are down like many small schools in the Northern Section, Johnson feels confident his Lumberjacks will contend for a Feather River League title and have a shot at a Division VI crown. "We're looking pretty good at the skill positions," said Johnson before the start of the season. "I think we are one of three teams that will make a run at the league title." Westwood will benefit from the addition of Daniel Gardner, a transfer from Lassen High School. The senior contended for a starting quarterback at Lassen, but most likely would not have started before graduating. "Dan is going to be a big addi- tion to the team. He is ty much everything Johnson said. "he's got a arm and has been with his receivers. He's up the system. Having quarterback will allow us Josh (Tilford) at split make us more dan offense."
