He was shot Oct. 12 at about noon and weighed in at 131 pounds field dressed. Photo submitted THE CHRISTIAN FAITH IS NOT A "LEAP IN THE DARK." Rather, God has called us to an "intelligent faith." Intelligent? Yes! For example, did you know that" it is mathematically impossible for the world to have evolved? Who did the research on that? Several people have. In fact, no less persons than Dr. Carl Sagan and Dr. Emille Boreal (former mathematics teacher at Cornell UniverSity) are two of them. Their work is footnoted in a book by author Zola Levitt. Their work showing the probability that planet earth evolved? They came up with a chance of the earth evolving as 1 in 10 to the 2 billionth power! Dr. BoreUe states that it is a mathematical law that any probability of over 10 to the 50th power can never happen! And here they pegged evolution at 10 to the 2 billionth! Did they become believers in a Creator God? I don't think so -- I can share more if you like -- even the name of Zola Levitt's book! Just give me a call at 530-927-7626. We are SPRINGS OF HOPE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP, 59 Bell Lane, Quincy. If there is any way we can be of help to you, please call us at 530-927-7626. (Next -- there is a great deal of confusion concerning "'separation of church and state. "') By the way -- before you go disparaging the account of a talking serpent as antithetical to "intelligent faith," you ought to know what the Scripture is actually saying! 59 Bell Lane, Quincy, 927-7626 Plumas County Republican Women Federated President Marlene Nelson, right, presents a check to Quincy Elementary School Principal Kristy Warren on Oct. 24. The $350 donation will go to the library for the PUrchase of appropriate books for elementary students. The funds were donated over a period of time by club members and matched from the club treasury. "The PCRWF club considers it a privilege to contribute to the education and enlightenment of young Plumas County children," said Nelson. Absolutely - a rough calculation done for the June primary indicated that by the time Alice entered the race over 70% of voters had voted by mail. Once she entered the race, she had three weeks to campaign and garnered over 70% of the remaining votes (those who hadn't mailed in yet plus those who vote at the polls).
