Unity Day is part of National Bullying Prevention Month, and individuals, schools, communities and businesses wear or display orange to show support for students who have been bullied. Photo submitted ,uincy li ,rary I IIII IA I I 1 ~. ~ ~ = = I 1%11 I-~ i1 * I Holiday books will be among the thousands offered at the Quincy Friends of the Plumas County Library quarterly book sale to be held this Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 5 though 7. The event will be open to Friends members only Thursday, from 3 to 7 p.m., and then open to the public Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and again Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thelibrary will also be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday -- the first Saturday in several years -- thanks to the Friends. The group is using past book sale proceeds to pay for Saturday hours for one year. The Friends will collect data on how much the library is used during this time to encourage the Board of Supervisors to restore weekend hours. Holiday books -- both fiction and nonfiction -- will be featured during the Quincy Friends of the Plumas County Library quarterly book sale to be held this Thursday through Saturday.
