The Quincy High Sdhool production of "Up the Down Staircase" opens this Thurs- day, Nov. 15, and runs through Saturday, Nov. 17. Showtime is 7:30 p.m. in the theater (small gym). With Chris O'Brien direct- ing, and drama teacher Terry Gallagher producing, this year's senior high drama production promises to be entertaining. Tickets are $6 for general admission and $5 for QHS students with a student body card. Tickets are on sale in advance at The Bookshelf and Carey Candy Co. Be- cause these productions of- ten sell out, it's recommend- ed that tickets be purchased in advance. Proceeds from the play are used to fund the annual dra- ma class trip to Ashland, Ore. "Up the Down Staircase" follows teacher Sylvia (Emily Biddle) as she learns the ropes in her new job. Experienced teacher Bea Schacter (Megan Gruner) helps Sylvia adjust to her new surroundings and stu- dents. Sylvia also finds herself with a new beau--her fellow teacher Paul (Billy Ogle), and must deal with a discipline- happy administrator, played by Megan Wallace.
