It also took him a step closer to fulfilling a lifelong goal of becoming a paramedic. In addition to receiving specialized training in a variety of areas and graduating from the Fire Academy, Tyson earned his EMT-B license. His determination, dedication and willingness to learn made him an easy choice to become that department's new chief. He is also now an EMT at Plumas District Hospital. And it runs in the family. His wife Danielle is also a firefighter and since the two spend much of their time in Quincy-- Tyson is now an EMT at Plumas District Hos- pital -- and at that department's training facilities, Chief Robbie Cas~ou asked them last year if they would also consider joining the Quincy Volunteer Depart- ment's fire family since they we were in town often and could respond to calls. "immediately after joining the GCVFD and later the QVFD we found that we gained a new family of firefighters and support volunteers. I will tell you that you will not find a tighter bond than with those whose life depends on one-another. It's just a great way to serve others and be a contributing part of the community," Chief Tyson said.
