28 Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008 Bulletin, Progressive, Record, Reporter VITAL STATISTICS OBITUARIES Jeffrey Bill Schmidt Greenville resident Jeffrey Bill Schmidt passed from this life peacefully, to his eternal home with the Lord, with his loving wife at his side, early • Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at his residence, following a valiant battle with cancer. Born just 51 years ago, July 7, 1957, in San Pablo to Russ- ian and German immigrants Wilhelm and Gerda (Redand) Schmidt, he was raised and educated in the San Francis- co East Bay community of El Cerrito. Jeff is a 1975 gradu- ate of Kennedy High School. Shortly following gradua- tion Jeff went to work for UBEC Inc. a business ma- chine distributor. He re- mained with the company 28 years before retiring in 2004 as its service manager. While employed at UBEC Inc., he met fellow co-worker Schelly Lynn Worthington. Their love for one another grew over a 10-year period of time, and Jeff married his best friend and love of his life Sept. 21, 2001. Following Jeff and Schelly's retirement, they re- located to the northeastern California community of Greenville Christmas Day 2004 from Pleasanton. Jeff had a deep faith in his Savior and enjoyed attending the Greenville Southern Bap- tist Church. He was an ac- complished woodworker who also enjoyed working on au- tomobiles especially doing auto bodywork. In passing Jeff leaves his loving wife Schelly of Greenville, children Justin, Branden and Jason Wor- thington both serving our country as members of the U.S. Marine Corps; daughter Crystal Lee of the San Fran- cisco Bay Area, the precious joy of his later life his grand- child Cayden James Wor- thington; his father Wilhelm of Livermore and with sisters Tammy Molfino of Atas- cadero and Heidi Schmidt of Eagle Point, Ore. Jeff joins in his eternal home his mother Gerda, who passed from this life in 1998. A celebration of Jeff's life was held Friclay, Dec. 12, at the Greenville Southern Bap- tist Church. Interment fol- 'lowed in Greenville District Cemetery.
